Project Update 7

Work has continued at a good pace in the church since our last update.

Lighting

Many of the new light fittings are now up, and as you can see, the fittings are much smaller than the units they replace - and yet bring the same amount of light to the space whilst being more energy efficient. The lights are fully dimmable and can be controlled individually - meaning that we can change the lighting level in different parts of the church based on what is being used and what is most fitting.

War Memorial

The war memorial in the North Transept has been cleaned along with the wooden frame and shelf below it. Also, the wooden shelves over the radiators around the building have been sanded, treated and made to look as good as new.

Blinds and Steps

The new electronic blinds over the side windows in the church have begun to be installed. These have been tailor-made especially to fit our windows, and are linked in with the new lighting control system. The steps up to the main dais have also been refurbished and look beautiful.

Wesleys Works

Whilst not technically part of the project, we have also taken the opportunity to have the floor in Wesleys refurbished and new blinds fitted to the three ceiling skylights. We encourage you to go in and look at the new floor - it really is a marvel!
